How it works
On any shop, DealScout reads the product title and price from the page and shows a small card: "Cheaper alternatives?". Nothing happens unless you say yes.
We search our supplier catalogue for the same kind of item, convert every price to your currency including shipping, and score each result on how close a match it is. Tap the score to see why.
Pick one, press Buy now, pay by card. The price you saw is locked for 30 minutes. DealScout is the seller: one order, one receipt, one place to ask for help.
Questions
Are these the same brand-name products?
Usually not, and we never pretend they are. DealScout looks for the same kind of product with the same key specifications, often an unbranded or generic version made in the same factories. The match score and its explanation tell you exactly what's the same and what differs.
Who am I buying from?
DealScout. We source products from vetted third-party suppliers and manufacturers and ship them to you. Your contract, receipt, support and refunds are with DealScout.
How long does delivery take?
Most orders ship internationally and arrive within 1 to 3 weeks. The estimate for your country is shown before you pay, and you get tracking by email.
What does the extension see?
Only the product you're looking at, and only on product pages: title, price, image and the page address. It does not read your browsing history, logins, or anything on pages that aren't product pages. Full details in the privacy policy.
Does it cost anything?
The extension is free. You pay for a product only if you choose to buy one.
Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026. This policy covers the DealScout Chrome extension and the DealScout website and checkout.
What the extension collects
- Product details from the page you're viewing, only when the page is a product page: the product title, price, brand, category, image address and the page address. These are sent to DealScout's servers to search for equivalents. We don't collect your browsing history, the content of other pages, form entries, passwords or cookies.
- Your settings (display currency, delivery country, sites where you turned the prompt off) are stored in Chrome's extension storage. If Chrome sync is on, Chrome syncs them to your Google account; we don't receive them.
What we collect when you order
- Name, email address and delivery address, to deliver the order and send you the receipt and tracking.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach DealScout's servers. See Stripe's privacy policy.
How we use and share it
- Product details are used to find and rank equivalents. To rank matches we send the product title and the candidate listings' titles to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude API). No personal data is included in that request.
- Your name and delivery address are shared with the supplier or carrier that fulfils your order, for that purpose only.
- We don't sell personal data, don't run advertising trackers, and don't use your data for anything beyond providing DealScout.
Retention
Search requests are held in memory for under an hour and then discarded. Order records are kept for as long as consumer and tax law requires. You can ask us to access or delete your personal data at any time using the contact below.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes and the new version is published here.
Terms of sale
- Seller. Products bought through DealScout are sold by DealScout. We source them from third-party suppliers and manufacturers, mainly overseas.
- Prices. The price shown includes the item and, where shown, shipping to your country. It is locked for 30 minutes from the moment you open checkout. Delivery estimates and any import charges that apply to your country are shown before you pay.
- Delivery. Typically 1 to 3 weeks; you receive tracking by email. If an order hasn't arrived within 45 days we refund it in full.
- Cancellation and returns. You can cancel an order before it ships, and return an item within 14 days of delivery for a refund.
- Equivalents, not replicas. Products are equivalents chosen for matching function and specifications. They are not represented as the brand-name product on the page where you started.
